Tiny Pizza (for Kids)


Ingredients:

•1 standard-sized bagel, cut in half
•tomato sauce
•shredded mozzarella cheese
•toppings like diced green pepper, chopped onion, or chopped tomato
•seasonings like oregano, basil, and pepper

Directions:

1.Preheat the oven to 325° F.
2.Spread tomato sauce on each bagel half.
3.Sprinkle the shredded cheese all over the tomato sauce on each half.
4.Add your favorite toppings.
5.Put a light sprinkling of seasonings on each half.
6.Put your bagel halves on the baking sheet.
7.Bake in the oven on low heat for about 5 to 8 minutes. You'll know they're done when the cheese is bubbly.
8.Let cool for a minute, then enjoy your tiny pizzas

Kadhi Chawal



Inredients:
4 cups sour curd
1 cup gram flour
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1/8 tsp asafoetida
7-8 curry leaves
1 large onion(sliced long)
1tsp fenugreek seeds
Salt to taste
3 tbsp oil

For Pakoras:
Oil for frying
2 cups Gram flour
1 onion
2 Potatoes
Salt to taste
1 tsp Dry mango powder
1 tsp Chat Masala(optional)
1 1/2 cup water
Method:
* Heat oil in a pan. Put cumin seed, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, coriander seeds then add onion.Heat till it get light brown.

* Add sour curd mixed with gram flour. Let it boil. Keep ur gas on medium flame.

* For pakoras:
Mix gram flour with water. Add salt, dry mango powder, chat masala. Dip onion & potato in a gram flour mix. Fry it in a oil till they get golden brown.

* When kadhi is ready add pakoras in it.

*Serve hot with boiled rice.

Recipe Corner

Bread Kofta


Ingredients :

Bread : 6 slices
Potatoes : 4
Red Chillipowder :1tsp
Salt - 2 tsps
Water - to soak bread

For curry :

Oil : 6 tbsp
Onions : 2
Red chilli powder - 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Curd - 2 tbsp
Tomatoes - 8
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch

For filling :

Oil - 2 tbsp
Onions-2 big
Panneer - 25 g
Green chillies - 2
Red chilli powder - 1tsp
Salt

Grind to paste :

Garlic - 4 flakes
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece

Method :

1. Boil potatoes, peel and mash.
2. Soak bread slices one by one in water. Take out and squeeze the water from slices and mix with mashed potatoes, chilli powder and salt.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and saute till light brown.
4. Add Paneer, fry for a while, then add chopped green chillies, red chilli powder and salt to taste. Keep aside.
5. Prepare small balls from the dough of bread and potatoes, flatten on the palm
6. Stuff the filling in the middle and close all around. Deep fry these koftas in hot oil, till golden brown and keep aside.

To make curry :

1.Heat little oil in a pan. Add onions and fry till golden brown.
2. Add ground masala and fry till it separates from oil.
3. Add 1 tbsp of curd, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
4. Saute till oil is separated.
5. Add another tbsp of curd and continue to fry till oil is separated.
6. Mix tomatoes and fry. Pour one cup of water and boil till the gravy becomes thick.
7. Add koftas just before serving. Garnish with coriander leaves.

White Gravy

Ingredients:
Onion quartered 4 large
Cashew nuts 1 cup
Oil 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Green cardamoms 2
Green chillies, slit 2
Mawa(khoya) grated 1/4 cup
Yogurt whisked 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
White pepper powder 1/2 tsp

Method:
* Place onions in a pan. Add a cup of water & boil till soft. Drain & cool. Grind in to a smooth paste.
* Soak cashew nuts in half cup of warm water for half an hour & grind to a smooth paste. Heat oil in a pan & add boiled onion paste. Stir & add garlic paste, ginger paste, green cardamoms, slit green chillies. Stir & add grated mawa & cashew nuts paste. Stir.
* Add 1/2 cup of water & mix. cook on low heat for 5-10 mins.
* Add whisked yogurt, salt & white pepper powder. Stir & cook for a min.

Tips On Ironing Shirt


* After washing, give the shirt a quick shake & ideally put it on hanger so that it falls into its natural shape as it dries. Avoid it just spreading on the clothesline.

* Before ironing, spray the shirt liberally with water & begin by ironing the collar on the "wrong" side, starting from the outer corner. Repeat on the right side, pulling the corner up as it's ironed inwards- this will create a neat curve.

* Next, the yoke should be ironed - first on the wrong side, & then on the right side. She should then go on to the cuffs, again starting the ironing from the outer edge.

* The backs should be tackled on the wrong side. And then, the sleeves need to be ironed. They should be smoothed on the ironing board while ironing. Careful attention should be paid to the gathers around the cuffs & the seams around the armholes. Sleeves can be ironed with or without creases.

* Finally the two front sections need to be ironed. Your help should move the iron around buttons & flatten out any creases along the armhole seams.

* The shirt should be left to air on a hanger for a while before turning to the wardrobe.

Hair Style


Use of Heated Roller on Straight Hair

* Just take a medium sized roller & place it in the middle of a section ur hair.

* Start at the forehead & work backwards from there. Place the rollers in the front first & then place the rest in between two rollers till u reach the end.

* Leave smaller rollers for the back & medium ones for the top.

* Leave them to set for 20 minutes & open gently.

* Do not comb; just run ur fingers through & u r done!

Gajar Halwa (Carrot Pudding)

Ingredients:
1 3/4 kgs. Red carrots peeled & grated
1/4 cup Milk
2 cups Sugar
400gms. Khoya crumbled(whole dried milk)
7tbsp Ghee
20 Almonds blanched & sliced

Method:
1. Put carrots & milk into cooker.
2. Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Remove cooker immediately from heat. Release pressure with slight lifting of vent weight. Open cooker.
3. Place cooker with carrots on high heat. Add sugar. Cook till liquid dries up(approximately 15 mins., stirring occasionally. Add khoya & ghee. Cook till ghee shows separately(approximately 10 mins.), stirring constantly. Serve hot, garnnished with almonds.

Ingredients:
1 cup Macaroni
2 spoon Tomato Sauce
1 spoon Cumin Powder
1 spoon Garam Masala
1 spoon Coriander Powder
2 spoon Refined Oil

Method:
* Boil macaroni for 10 mins. & strain thro' cold water.
* Heat oil in a pan. Add macaroni to it. Cook for 1 min.
* Now add tomato sauce, cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder & salt & mix it.
* Cook for 1 min.

Tip: U can also add veggies to it to enhance its taste.

How to do a Head Massage


* Start with Pressure Points
Lying back in a chair, with ur neck supported by a cushion, use ur index & middle fingers in small circular motions on the points at the end of ur eyebrow.

*Relieve Tension
Place ur fingers & thumb across ur forehead from temple to temple. Rhythmically tap each finger lightly for 10 seconds, starting with ur little finger & moving thro' to ur thumb.

*Now U 're Relaxing
Massage the pressure points at the end of ur brows with ur index & middle finger for a further 40 seconds.

*Relieve Scalp Tension & Encourage Blood Flow
Next, move to the top of ur head & using the heel of ur hands, massage the head as u were washing ur hair. Continue for 3-5 mins. Massaging ur scalp every day will stimulate blood flow, which may help if u r growing ur hair.

Olive oil 1/2 cup
Cottage cheese crumbled 1 cup
Onion finely chopped 1/4th
Jalapeno chili pepper, deseeded & finely chopped 1
Garlic clove, minced 2-3
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method
1. Whisk together sour cream & oil in a bowl until smooth & creamy. Stir in cottage cheese & rest of the ingredients.
2. Transfer it to another bowl. Cover & chill at least 1 hour before serving.

* If ur nails are hard, then in luke warm water, add black salt in it. Dip ur hands in water for 5 mins. Ur nails will be soft.

* To get rid of crack heels, use this remedy....in luke warm water add 1 1/2 tbsp of shampoo & dip ur feet in it. when ur skin softens rub it with pumice stone.

* Set their schedule. They should know what they have to do before going to school or after coming from school. Check their homework regularly. Also talk to them about their school activities.

* Adult children have more work load. Sometimes help them doing their assignments. Ask them to make plan & also help them in their work.

1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp Refined Oil
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:
*Heat refined oil in a pan.
*Put cumin seeds & mustard seeds in it. When it starts to sprinkle, add turmeric powder.
*Add boiled potatoes in it. Sprinkle salt on potatoes. Toss it.
*Serve it with hot Chapatis.

Dum Aloo


Ingredients:
100gm Potatoes
1 cup of Water
1 cup of Ghee
2 Onions
5 tbsp Tomato puree
150ml Curd
1/2 cup hot water
1 Capsicum
1 1/4 tsp of Garam Masala
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste

Spices:
4 green cardmom
1 piece cinnamon sticks
6 black peppercorn
4 bay leaves
4 cloves

Paste:
1 large Onion
10 Garlic flakes
2 tbsp Ginger
6 Black peppercorn
1 tsp Poppy seeds
1 tsp Coriander seeds
1 tsp Cumin seeds
2 dry red Chillies
1 tsp Turmeric powder

Method:
* Prick potatoes with fork & soak for 2hrs. in salted water.
* Then deep fry.
* Heat measured ghee in a pan & fry onion & all spieces until golden.
* Grind paste ingredients to smooth paste & stir in to onion.
* Cook for 10 mins. Stir tomato puree, curd & salt.
* Add the potatoes & hot water & stir over low flame for 5 mins.
* Sprinkle dum aloo with pepper & garam masala & cook for few mins.

* Drink mix juice of carrot, tomato & beetroot twice a day to have redness on ur face. This will help to reduce wrinkles as well as avoid pimples & spots.

* Include sprouted chickpeas & green gram in ur diet. These r rich source of Vitamin E.

* Soak the dry rind of orange in raw milk & make its paste. Apply on ur face & wash ur face with fresh water.

* Mix 3-4 drops of lemon juice in cold milk cream & apply it on ur wrinkle area & give a light massage.

* Massage the wrinkles in opposite direction with olive oil.

* Mix gram flour with warm water & apply it on face. After few mins. massage with honey & wash after 1/2 an hour.

* Lipsticks can be used as a blush bu dabbing a hint of the lip colour on the cheeks & blending it out.

*Dab a spot of frosted & metallic shadows on the pout of the lips to enhance them .


* If eye shadows are in powder form, u can mix them with lip gloss & use.

* Eye shadows can be used as powder blush depending on the shade & texture. Apply with a blush brush all over the apples of the cheeks.

* Old mascara cab be mixed with a few drops of oil & used to touch up greys. But be warned this is temporary & if its too humid or u sweat a lot, the mascara could run all over ur face ....so for those moments use waterproof mascara.



* U can also use powdered eye shadow mixed with hair gel to create any colour of hair streaks.

* Apply mousse on semi wet hair, tie 4-5 braids.

Recipe Corner

Quick Cookie

Ingredients:
1/2 kg green melon
200g finely crushed oatmeal cookies
1 orange
1 orange jelly pack
1 pack vanilla ice-cream
1 apple thinely sliced
250ml cream
sugar to taste
Method:
1. Layer the bottom of bowl with crushed cookies.
2. Puree the melon with sugar. Whip the cream to a stiff consistency.
3. Take slightly melted ice-cream & mix it witgh pureed melon.
4. Lightly fold in the whipped cream. The mixture should be of thick pouring consistency.
5. Pour this mixture over the cookie layer. Set in the fridge for an hour.
6. Make orange jelly. before it sets , pour half the jelly on cookie mix.
7. Cut apple slices into different shapes. Slice the orange & chop the remaining melon.
8. After an hour, remove the mixture from the fridge, arrange fruits on top, pour the remaining jelly & set.

Blood Pressure & Salt









According to various scientific researches it is proved that disorders of high blood pressure & heart are related with salt. Salt is made up of sodium & chloride ions. Its increase in body discard water to enter in blood...& our heart has to make more efforts to work efficiently. That's why the patients with high blood pressure are restricted to low salt diet or without salt diet.
High blood patients are also allowed to eat fruit & veggies to have natural salt present in them instead of having salt in impure form.

*Patients with high BP can have wheat, rice & pearl millet but they should avoid corn flour as it is rich source of sodium.

* Veggies like fenugreek, spinach, coriander, carrot, radish, turnip should be avoided becoz these r rich in sodium. Except these vegetables High BP patients can have other vegetables.

* They can eat all fruits except water melon & jack fruit.

* They should avoid bread, cake & chocolate.

* Don't use excess salt in salads.

* Avoid junk food.

* Eat less spicy food.

Our body needs 4-5 gms of salt daily that we get from the routine eatables.
